Update your card (Paystack)

Your GarageManager subscription is billed to a card through Paystack. When a card expires or you switch banks, you’ll want the next renewal to charge the new one — here’s how the card on file works.

How the card is stored

When you first subscribe, Paystack’s hosted checkout takes your card and returns a reusable authorisation that GM uses to charge each renewal. GarageManager never sees or stores your full card number — Paystack holds it securely, and we only keep the token that lets us bill the agreed amount.

Update to a new card

  1. Open Settings → Subscription.
  2. Start a card update / new subscription checkout — Paystack’s secure page opens.
  3. Enter the new card. The new authorisation replaces the old one for future renewals.
Subscription checkouts are card-only. Recurring billing needs a reusable card, so even where your customers can pay you by Apple Pay, QR, or EFT, the page where you pay for GM shows card only. That’s by design, not a fault.

Renewal references

Your first charge uses a reference we generate; after that Paystack issues its own reference for each renewal. Your receipt email leads with our own RCP- number and shows the Paystack reference as a footnote. For where to find those, see Payment receipts. Billing access is Owner and Admin only.
