What the Service Catalog is for
The Service Catalog is your price book. It holds the services, parts, and labour codes you sell, each with a default price. Quotes and invoices pull from it, so the same job is priced the same way every time — and it powers the smart part suggestions you get while quoting.
Where it lives
Open Settings → Library. You get tabs for Service, Parts, Labour, and All, with search and category grouping. Add an item with a name and a default price; labour codes also carry a code and book-time hours.
Why it is worth building
- Consistent pricing — no more pricing the same brake job differently each week.
- Faster quoting — search and drop in an item instead of typing it out.
- Smart suggestions — pick a service and GM suggests the parts that service usually needs.
- Profit tracking — add a cost price to a part and GM can show your margin per line.
You don’t have to build it all up front. Start with a handful of common services and parts. Anything you type directly on a quote or invoice can be saved back into the catalog, so it grows as you work.
The catalog is a PRO and ENTERPRISE feature, and it’s owner-managed. Next, see Parts vs labour items and Add a labour code.
