Create a job card
A job card is what you track on the workshop floor — who is doing what on which vehicle, what parts and labour go on, and what photos you captured. When the work is done, one click converts it into an invoice.
Create the card
- Go to Job Cards in the sidebar.
- Click + New job card.
- Pick the client and vehicle. (If the vehicle is new, add it from the client page first — see Add a client.)
- Add a short description of the work — e.g. “Service + brake pad replacement”.
- Save. The card is given a sequential job number (e.g. JC-202605-001) and starts in Open status.
Track work as you go
Open the card on your phone from the workshop floor. The detail page has three tabs:
- Overview — status, current session, total labour time logged.
- Customer — client + vehicle details, plus a photo button for assessment shots before work starts.
- Products — every part and labour code added to the card so far.
Sessions and labour time
- Tap Start session when a mechanic starts work.
- Tap Pause on tea breaks or when waiting for parts. Tap Resume to keep the clock running.
- Tap Complete session when the mechanic stops for the day or the job is done.
- The card sums all session minutes. When you convert to an invoice, total hours × your tenant labour rate becomes the labour line.
Multi-mechanic (PRO): on PRO and ENTERPRISE, two or more mechanics can have parallel sessions on the same card. Each one tracks its own time and rolls into the same labour total.
Finishing up
- Mark the card Completed.
- Click Convert to invoice. Parts copy across, labour is rolled from session time × labour rate, VAT is applied if your business is registered.
- Review and issue. See Create an invoice.
