Import clients from a CSV

Already have your customers in a spreadsheet or another system? Import them in bulk instead of retyping. GM reads your CSV, works out which column is which, lets you fix anything it got wrong, previews the result, and only then writes the records.

Import in four steps

  1. Go to Clients → Import.
  2. Upload your CSV. GM detects the format and auto-maps the columns — it recognises common exports and shows how confident it is.
  3. Check the column mapping. For each column, confirm what it is — client name, email, phone, vehicle make, registration, and so on — or skip it. You can re-map anything it guessed wrong.
  4. Review the preview — row counts, any errors, and grouping conflicts — then commit. Records are written only at this final step.
Need the right shape? Download the template from the import page to see exactly which columns GM expects. Client name and email are the required fields; everything else (phone, WhatsApp, address, and the vehicle fields) is optional.

How rows are grouped

  • Phone columns can auto-route to mobile or landline, or you can force a column into a specific field.
  • Vehicle columns (make, model, year, registration, VIN, last service) attach the vehicle to the client on the same row.
  • The preview flags rows with errors or conflicts before anything is saved, so you can fix the CSV and re-upload.

Importing respects your plan’s client limit — on FREE you can hold up to 5 clients. See Free vs PRO vs ENTERPRISE.
