Working from the workshop floor

GarageManager is built to be used with greasy hands and a phone in your pocket. The job-card screens are designed for the floor — big tap targets, a camera button that opens the rear camera, and a running clock you can start and stop one-handed.

Set it up for the floor

  1. Add GM to your home screen so it opens like an app — see Get GarageManager on your phone.
  2. Sign in once; it stays signed in.
  3. Open the job card you’re working on and keep it on the Overview tab.

What you’ll do most

  • Clock time — Start when you pick the job up, Stop when you put it down. The card shows a green ● Running while the clock’s going. See sessions.
  • Snap photos — Take Photo opens the rear camera straight away for before-shots and findings. See assessment photos.
  • Add parts — drop fitted parts onto the Products tab as you go, so nothing’s forgotten at invoicing.
  • Leave notes — the notes box is on every tab, for parts ordered, customer comments, and follow-ups.
  • Check past work — the Past Work tab surfaces what was done to this vehicle before.
Built for small screens. The layout fits a phone — the nav reaches the bottom of the screen, amounts and buttons don’t clip, and pages don’t scroll sideways. It works the same on iPhone and Android.

When the job’s done, mark the card Completed and convert it to an invoice — all from the same phone. See Convert a job card to an invoice.
